DVD Pal to NTSC

PDFPrintE-mail

If you've done some travelling abroad or have lived in Europe for any amount of time, you may have captured your memories and special moments on a DVD PAL format.

You may even have purchased a DVD while travelling in the UK and now that you're back home, you find that you are unable to view it.  Master Copycats can help!

Confusing technical details aside, the easiest way to explain “PAL” is as follows:  “Phase Alternating Line” or “PAL” is an analogue television encoding system used in broadcast television systems in large parts of the world. PAL was developed by Walter Bruch at Telefunken in Germany. The format was first unveiled in 1963, with the first broadcasts beginning in the United Kingdom in 1964 and Germany in 1967, though the one BBC channel initially used as the broadcast standard only began to broadcast in colour from 1967.

Most North American DVD players do not understand the PAL system.  They only understand the NTSC system.  This is where Master Copycats comes it!
